Manufacturing and Engineering Marine Vessels
In 2008, EPS acquired one-half interest in Vectorworks Marine LLC, manufacturer of reinforced plastic composite vessels. Located on the Intracoastal Waterway, Titusville, FL the facility specializes in producing state-of-the-art marine vessels for military, commercial, sport, and recreational use.
The EPS Vectorworks facility is a shipyard dedicated to the design, development, and manufacture of composite vessels up to 70 meters in length. High-end computer-based systems are used to take customer concepts, develop two and three dimensional drawings or models, and by use of the on-site 5-axis milling machine, convert these models directly into limited and/or full production tooling and molds. EPS Vectorworks has the ability and facilities to engineer and produce prototype vessels, test and trial them and, once proof of concept is established, refine and develop the design for the manufacturing process. In addition, the size of the shipyard facilities allows for full production of several vessels to continue concurrently.
EPS Corporation successfully launched the first EPS M10 hovercraft, the first American-built advanced composite hovercraft of its size and caliber. The EPS M10 Hovercraft, built at the company’s facilities in Titusville, Florida, was launched in late 2010 and was shipped to its final destination in early January 2011.
The second of two EPS M10 Hovercrafts was delivered to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Ministry of Interior Border Guard and was subsequently commissioned by the Border Guard on 8 October 2011 as “Sanafer.” Hovercraft “Sanafer”, along with Hovercraft “Alwajh”, the first American-built EPS M10 Hovercraft, will service the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Border Guard’s Eastern Region.
